This Miss Louisiana USA history archive begins with the very first Miss Louisiana USA, Jeanne Thompson, who placed first runner-up at Miss USA 1952 and also competed in 1953. There are headshots, crowning photos and news clippings from all of Louisiana’s Miss USA and Teen USA representatives from the 1950s to the present day, giving you a unique snapshot on Louisiana pageant history. Unlike some states, there has been little regional dominance in Louisiana as you can see on the maps, with winners spread throughout the Pelican state. Louisiana is one of only a handful of states that can claim three Miss USA titleholders, although they have not had a win since Ali Landry in 1996. In the meantime the Teens have enjoyed a period of dominance with Miss Teen USA crowns going to Shelley Hennig in 2004 an Katherine Haik, the youngest winner in recent years, in 2015.
