KT started competing when she was 13 and at just 14 placed first runner-up to future Miss Teen USA Katherine Haik at Miss Louisiana Teen USA 2015 (both were 14, which is crazy!) using her full name Katie Scannell.  She placed first runner-up a second time in 2016, then finished second runner-up in 2017 and 2018.  In 2021 she competed in the Miss division for the first time.  A college student in Mississippi, she ended up second runner-up at Miss Mississippi USA 2021 Bailey Anderson.
