A native of Covington, Ellie Picone was crowned Miss Louisiana Teen USA on 24 October 2015 and represented Louisiana at the Miss Teen USA 2016 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Miss Louisiana Teen USA 2016 Ellie Picone is a freshman at Mandeville High School and maintains a 3.9 GPA. She is a member of the Spinnaker Dance Team, Skipper Buddies, Spirit club, and the Helping Hands club.
Ellie has been training in classical ballet since the age of two and half. Accomplishments include acceptance into prestigious ballet schools such as the American Ballet Theatre and the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C., which she attended in the summer of 2014. She currently studies at Lemoine Academy of Dance in Hammond, LA.
Ellie is a member of Northshore Bible Church in Covington. She enjoys volunteering with special needs children at her local gym.
As a member of a foreign missions team sponsored by Northshore Bible, Ellie has traveled to the Amazon region of Brazil for the past three years. While visiting remote villages scattered throughout the Amazon River, she has helped to provide clothing, medical supplies, fishing supplies, and spiritual encouragement to the Brazilian people that she has grown to love. During her most recent trip, Ellie started a group called “Teen Girl Talk”. Within each village she organized a group of Brazilian girls, prepared a topic and discussion, and was able to offer encouragement and advice to the girls.
