Top 10 2009
A native of Lafayette, Sara Brooks was crowned Miss Louisiana USA on 31 October 2009 and represented Louisiana at the Miss USA 2010 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Miss Louisiana USA 2010 Sara Brooks is a 21 year old senior at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is majoring in Applied Science, and will continue her education by getting her Master’s Degree at UL. Sara is actively involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Up till Dawn for St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as well as Ducks Unlimited. Being a proud Ragin Cajun, Sara plans to stay involved in many on campus activities such as University Program Council, Student Dietetics Association, and being a Student Council Liaison for SDA, Louisiana Dietetics Association, and Lafayette Dietetics Association. She is a former Delta Delta Delta sorority member, and will remain active in their philanthropic endeavors.
Sara has not been involved in pageants for very long, however, she will use her year as Miss Louisiana USA to inspire young girls to chase their dreams, no matter what their circumstances. She is a believer in the statement by Dr. Seuss “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
In Sara’s spare time she very much enjoys following Ragin Cajun and LSU football, Houston Astros Baseball, and Houston Texans Football, all while keeping up with her Ebay store and volunteering. Her passion is International Travel and to stay mentally and physically healthy, she practices Yoga.
