A native of Houma, Mary Risener was crowned Miss Louisiana Teen USA on 26 October 2013 and represented Louisiana at the Miss Teen USA 2014 pageant at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
Miss Louisiana Teen USA 2014 Mary Risener is a 2013 graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High School. While in high school she was very active in many activities. She was a member of the Student Council, a 2 year member of the Campus Ministry, and was in the Choir for 3 years. She was a 2 year member of the Vantastics dance team and the Vandebilt theater. Currently, she lives in New Orleans and is a freshman at the University of New Orleans where she is studying Film and Theatre arts.
Mary also enjoys modeling and has modeled for numerous photographers and boutiques around the New Orleans and Houma area. In 2011, she was named Model of the Year at the International Presentation of Performers in Los Angeles, CA. She is also a 3 time model at NOLA Fashion Week in New Orleans, LA. When Mary is not busy with studying, she enjoys reading, dancing, cooking, movies, and social media. As the new Miss Louisiana Teen USA, she looks forward to making many fond memories, traveling, appearances, meeting new friends, and representing her beautiful state at the Miss Teen USA Pageant.
Mary is an avid reader, and is extremely passionate about her platform of the importance of reading in school-aged children. Her overall goal is to inspire the youth of her state to pursue their dreams, and also to keep her peers aware that reading and perseverance are ultimate keys to unlocking their futures. She hopes to be an amazing role model for them to look up to, and to bring honor to the title of Miss Louisiana Teen USA.
