Miss Maine Teen USA 2014 Danielle Hurtubise was born and raised in the beautiful city of Portland that rests on the Maine coastline. Danielle is proud of where she comes from and is beyond grateful to be a representative of her state. Danielle is the middle of three sisters and says she wouldn’t be where she is today without her family, they have always wanted the best for her. Growing up Danielle has always had a thirst for adventure and new experiences. Since Danielle’s family owns a house in the city of Portland and a cabin in the small wooded town of Saint Albans she was able to experience the hustle and bustle of the city and then get away to the peaceful forests and lakes of central Maine. Danielle spent many weekends at her family’s cabin going canoeing and touching up on her archery skills.

Danielle is currently a junior at Deering High School in Portland. She has been in Key Club since freshman year; she was also a Varsity cheerleader. Danielle loves Key Club because it gets teens actively volunteering throughout their communities. Since beginning high school her passion for working out and eating healthy has become immensely important to her. Writing and art are extremely important to Danielle. She has been drawing ever since she could hold a pencil and believes writing is very important, and as a great way to free her thoughts. She is currently considering broadcasting or journalism as a major for her college education.

Even though she loves her home, she wishes to travel the world to meet new people and experience different cultures. Danielle is a very kind, independent, and observant young woman, she embraces every moment in life with a positive attitude. Many admire her optimism and passion for kindness. She has a strong love for volunteerism, animals, and the outdoors. Danielle wishes to leave a positive impression on the world.
