2014 bio:

Miss Maine USA 2014 Samantha Dahlborg was born in Boston, Massachusetts and lived in Berkley, Massachusetts for several years before moving to Maine and settling in the small suburban town of Gorham.

Sammy attended Gorham High School before graduating in 2012. She played field hockey, cheered competitively for many seasons and was very involved with The Dream Factory Organization/Dream Factory Organization club for high school students. (The Dream Factory Organization is a non-profit making dreams come true for children who are critically and chronically ill through fundraising events and pure volunteer work.) She currently attends the University of Southern Maine, studying Communications with a minor in Studio Arts. In addition to being a full-time student at USM, Sammy works part-time as an ice cream scooper for Beals Old Fashioned Ice Cream, a sales associate at Island Time Tanning and assists in teaching ballet and tap dance classes at Dance House Productions (her current dance studio) to 3-8 year olds. Sammy believes strongly in supporting local businesses and working locally.

In her free time, Sammy passionately continues working on the project she founded, The Confidence Project. Photography has always been a hobby of Sammy’s, and after overcoming difficult obstacles in her life, she was inspired to use her hobby as a way to help highlight, instill and enhance the self-confidence of young woman. Sammy’s future plans include ideally working for Disney World in Florida as a princess, or traveling the world studying and blogging fashion. No matter what Sammy’s future has in store for her, she ultimately wants to inspire people to be the best version of themselves. She wants to make a difference and she believes that she can with the title of Miss Maine USA 2014. In her reigning year, she plans to continue working with The Dream Factory Organization and helping kids reach their dreams. Her favorite quote is, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” She firmly believes that no matter what your dream may be, with hard work, support and inspiration you can reach those dreams. Sammy is most excited about inspiring people to follow their dreams while being the titleholder of Miss Maine USA 2014.
