A native of Windham, Miss Maine USA 2019 Lexie Elston represented Maine at the Miss USA 2019 pageant in Reno, Nevada. During her reign she was a student at the University of Southern Maine studying Environmental Science with hopes of working for the Department of the Interior.
Miss Maine USA 2019 Lexie Elston was born and raised in Maine where she grew up exploring the sandy coast, the tallest mountains and all of the beauty that Maine has to offer.
She is currently a student earning her undergraduate degree at The University of Southern Maine in Environmental Science, and is planning on attending Texas A&M University to obtain her Master’s degree. After graduation, Lexie aims to become an Environmental Scientist for the U.S. Department of the Interior to work towards improving and protecting the current climate of our planet. Lexie also hopes to one day become a science Professor and teach at her Alma Mater!
Before deciding to pursue her passion in science, Lexie worked as a model after being discovered by the CEO of Guess Jeans at just 16 years old. After numerous rejection from agencies for being “too big” for the industry, she finally pushed through and signed a contract with Elite Model Management Worldwide in which she then split her time between Miami and Los Angeles.
Lexie decided to put her passion in modeling aside to pursue a degree in which she never thought was possible. Growing up, Lexie spent each one of her summers in school tutoring for math and science. The subjects did not come easy to her, and she had to fail over and over again to achieve what she has today. As a science degree major, Lexie is now taking Calculus and Chemistry courses and uses her ambitions and passion for science to get her to where she wants to be. She wants to use her own experience with rejection and failure to inspire others that nothing is impossible if you don’t give up.
Outside of balancing work, college, and all responsibilities as Miss Maine USA, Lexie loves to travel to new countries, experience new cultures and learn about the world around her. Lexie enjoys training for marathons, reading a good new book, and cooking with her family!
Passionate about the outdoors and wildlife, Lexie hopes to represent the importance of environmental awareness in today’s modern world by teaching young adults and individuals across America the great impact they have on the world and its many facets based upon their numerous daily actions and decisions. Lexie hopes to show people that protecting our earth and wildlife in the climate we are currently facing is extremely important for our future children and all generations that are to come.
As Miss Maine USA 2019, Lexie hopes to bring it all to Miss USA with her own unique story in order to inspire and push others to believe in themselves, work hard, and go after their dreams!
