A native of Lee, Miss Maine USA 2017 Brooke Harris represented Maine at the Miss USA 2017 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brooke graduated cum laude from the University of Maine Fort Kent with her Bachelors degree in Nursing. There she competed at the collegiate level for the Soccer and Basketball teams, winning the USCAA Women’s National Soccer Championship in 2013.
Miss Maine USA 2017 Brooke Harris was raised in Lee and currently resides in a suburb of Portland, Maine. She attended Lee Academy where she graduated in the top five of her class. There she was involved in Music, Civil Rights, Student Council, and Theatre and served as her class Vice President. As a daughter of an Athletic Director, she has always been an avid athlete as well. Brooke was a member of seven Maine High School State Championship teams, earning at least one in every sport she played: Soccer, X-Country, Basketball, and Softball. She was inducted into Lee Academy’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.
Brooke then went on to graduate cum laude from University of Maine Fort Kent with her Bachelors degree in Nursing. There she competed at the collegiate level for the Soccer and Basketball teams, winning the USCAA Women’s National Soccer Championship in 2013. She was also a member of the Student Nursing Organization and served as their Student Activities Coordinator.
Brooke has merged her passions for the beauty industry and healthcare by balancing her time as an Aesthetic Nurse in Portland’s prestigious Akari salon, and a Post-Surgical/Oncology Nurse at Biddeford Medical Center. She feels most fulfilled when serving others and has known she wanted to be a nurse since Kindergarten. She is eager to continue Miss Universe Organization’s work with Children’s Miracle Network and the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Her heart has always been with children. She plans to attend graduate school in the near future to earn her Doctorate and become a Certified Nurse-Midwife with dreams of one day opening her own women’s birthing center!
Brooke enjoys spending her spare time with her family and friends,exploring all that Maine’s outdoors has to offer, and volunteering for Silent Sidekicks animal assisted therapy organization with her dog,Sheldon. She has a passion for fitness and plans to start her own beauty/fitness blog “Becoming Brooke.”
