Miss Maine Teen USA 2015 Skyler Gaudette is a sixteen year old junior at Thornton Academy in Saco. She participates in varsity cheerleading, as well as coaching youth cheering. Skyler enjoys camping, boating, doing pottery, participating in charity events in her community and being with her family. Skyler aspires to graduate from high school and continue her education by attending college majoring in the medical field . Skyler was in a four wheeling accident resulting in near loss to her fingers, and while being in the hospital appreciated one special nurse that tended to her. She realized the caregiving, compassionate qualities this nurse had and the genuine compassion to help her. This solidified Skyler’s dream to someday help others in a similar capacity.

Skyler has been working as a summer camp counselor with first and second graders since she was fourteen. She loves working with kids, and loves bringing home to share a different, unique story of her day at work. She has a passion for coaching first and second grade cheerleaders as well. She loves teaching teamwork and confidence, and as a cheerleader she knows how important that is in her sport. She has been coaching for three years, and hopes to keep coaching in the future. Skyler is an extremely positive role model to girls of all ages in the Saco cheerleading programs, and loves to share her passion through teaching others.

Skyler would like to travel Europe and all over the world in the future. Skyler and her family have been fortunate to travel to different places each year, and she truly enjoys meeting new people and learning about the different cultures all around the world. She hopes to continue to travel to new places and keep learning and experiencing new things.

Skyler attends Thornton Academy, a high school that is well known for hosting exchange students from all over the world. This experience of was amazing for Skyler, as she was able to immerse herself into and learn so much about a very different culture . Allie graduated and is now very successful in college. Skyler considers herself to have gained a sister that lives across the world and will forever be grateful for their friendship.

Skyler is a fun, caring, patient, charismatic, and loving sixteen year old with big dreams. She is known to her friends, family and the youth community as a leader. She will carry the title of Miss Maine Teen USA 2015 through this year, and show her love for charities, children, and competing in the Miss Teen USA pageant in the Bahamas.
