A native of Hockessin, Ava MacMurray was crowned Miss Delaware Teen USA on 3 April 2022 and represented Delaware at the Miss Teen USA 2022 pageant in Reno, Nevada. Throughout her years playing volleyball in high school, she not only learned a great sport, but the importance of teamwork, friendship, trust, and leadership. One of her fondest memories of her high school years was winning the State Championship freshman year, while playing on the Varsity team.
Miss Delaware Teen USA 2022 Ava MacMurray recently graduated from The Charter School of Wilmington, where she balanced a busy life with AP courses, clubs, community service, and sports as an Honor Roll student, as well as an athlete.  She began playing volleyball in elementary school, and at the age of eleven, she joined a travel team. One of her fondest memories of her high school years was winning the State Championship freshman year, while playing on the Varsity team.  Throughout my years playing volleyball, she’s not only learned a great sport, but the importance of teamwork, friendship, trust, and leadership.
This fall, she will be attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, studying Business Analytics, with a concentration in Supply Chain Management. She is excited to see what the next four years bring.  She plans to continue her involvement with community service opportunities for individuals with disabilities and for underprivileged youth – two things that mean a lot to her. She wants to be an advocate for those who are disadvantaged and hope to spread awareness and inspire others to do the same.​
