2nd runner-up 2020, Miss Delaware’s Outstanding Teen 2018
A native of Wilmington, Sky Knox was crowned Miss Delaware Teen USA on 27 June 2021 and represented Delaware at the Miss Teen USA 2021 pageant in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sky is an accomplished level 10 competitive gymnast, competing in all four events and holding ten state and regional titles in Delaware and Pennsylvania.
Miss Delaware Teen USA 2021 Sky Knox was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. She is a recent graduate from The Baldwin School, where she maintained her distinguished high honor roll status. She served as the head of Baldwin’s Black Student Union, Service League, and Student Ambassadors Committee. She also spearheaded and organized Baldwin’s in-school diversity conference, Building Bridges. She will be continuing her academic career, focusing her studies on Africana Studies, Psychology, and Communication at Cornell University this fall. Sky is an accomplished level 10 competitive gymnast, competing in all four events and holding ten state and regional titles in Delaware and Pennsylvania. Sky is also a classically trained musician in violin, piano, and vocals.
Sky’s passion for music has driven her to write and compose her music that she will be recording this summer and debuting in the fall. During the pandemic, Sky recognized the importance of mental health and surrounding yourself with positivity. She channeled that into becoming the author of her first children’s series book titled “All-Girls School!” Sky uses her books to redefine negativity used to describe women and girls and instead focuses on their positive attributes. In 2018, Sky reigned as Miss Delaware’s Outstanding Teen. She used her platform to found a nonprofit initiative called B.E.S.T. (Brave Early Screening Teens), where she encourages teens to maintain their mental and physical health. Over the summer and early fall, she launched a virtual B.E.S.T. program for Wilmington teens through an organization called The Teen Warehouse. The program operated under the pillars Talk, Create, Screen, and Inspire. At The Teen Warehouse, Sky serves as the teen program manager, where she has the opportunity to work alongside influential community leaders to provide city teens with the resources, opportunities, and exposure they need to succeed.
Sky has combined all of her work in the community and with her nonprofit to create her platform “I’m-Possible: Unlocking Your Potential While Facing Adversity.” Her passion lies in community impact, and she pursues that passion in all facets of her life. On June 27th, Sky was crowned Miss Delaware Teen U.S.A. 2021, where she told her story of overcoming adversity from sexual assault and being a beam of hope for her teen peers with similar stories. She is excited to use her title to motivate teens that there is possibility and triumph even in the face of adversity. Sky cannot wait to compete nationally for Miss Teen U.S.
