A native of Middletown, Amanda Debus was crowned Miss Delaware Teen USA on 28 November 2010 and represented Delaware at the Miss Teen USA 2011 pageant in the Bahamas. Amanda went on to win Miss Delaware 2016 and was a runner-up for Miss Delaware USA, coming close to becoming the first quadruple-crown titleholder. In 2023 she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of thirty, and has been valiantly fighting the disease while raising money for breast cancer organisations alongside her husband Chad Kuhl’s baseball team, the Washington Nationals.
Miss Delaware Teen USA 2011 Amanda Debus lives in Middletown with her family, and her 6 dogs and 3 cats. She is a freshman at University of Delaware, where she is studying Kinesiology and Applied Physiology, and she hopes to become a pediatric physical therapist. Amanda is an accomplished dancer, baton twirler and singer, and with these talents she has performed all across the US. Her favorite performances include: The halftime show at the 2008 Orange Bowl with ZZ Top, a 9/11 Benefit for NYC Firefighters at Lincoln Center, and the 2005 Liberty Bowl Halftime Spectacular with the Beach Boys
Amanda is the youngest of two children of Mary and Joseph Debus. In her free time, Amanda loves to go shopping with her mom, hang out with her friends, teach dance classes, and walk around the University Campus. Amanda loves traveling, and each year her family takes a big vacation together. She has traveled to the Caribbean, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and most recently Switzerland, Spain, France and Italy.
