A native of Bear, Mia Jones was crowned Miss Delaware Teen USA on 1 December 2013 and represented Delaware at the Miss Teen USA 2014 pageant in the Bahamas.
Miss Delaware Teen USA 2014 Mia Jones is an Honor Roll ranking senior at Appoquinimink High, where she is an active student in and out of school. She is Varsity Cheerleading Captain and loves teaching others. Mia also participates in an exclusive scholarship organization sponsored by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, incorporated Zeta Omega Chapter. In this program Mia participates in community service, enrichment seminars and upon completion of the program she will be recognized at a Debutante Ball.
Mia is a dancer at New Castle Dance & Music Academy. She began dancing with them at the age of 3. Mia receives dance training in jazz, hip-hop, tap and pointe. She also received a private dance lesson with famous choreographer, George Faison of “Faison Firehouse” in Manhattan, New York. She loves painting, sketching and various other forms of art invention. When she is in her creative state of mind she can most relax and unwind.
As Miss Delaware Teen USA 2014, Mia plans to be a walking microphone to further develop her efforts with the “Feeding America” and “Best Buddies” programs. She will also continue to be a positive role model for adolescents in her community and surrounding areas. While reigning as Miss Delaware Teen USA 2014, Mia plans to be visible at state events, participate in community service efforts and support a plethora of charitable organizations. All the while she will be preparing to represent the State of Delaware in the 2014 Miss Teen USA pageant.
