A native of Middletown, Brynn Close was crowned Miss Delaware Teen USA on 26 November 2017 and represented Delaware at the Miss Teen USA 2018 pageant in Shreveport, Louisiana. Brynn is an active member of her school’s community where she is a member of the National Art Honors Society, Tutu Making Club, Operation Smile, and Spirit Club. She plans to further her studies next year at The University of Tennessee majoring in Broadcast Journalism.
Miss Delaware Teen USA 2018 Brynn Close is 18 years old, resides in Middletown, and is currently a senior at Ursuline Academy. Brynn is an honor roll student earning a minimum of a 3.5 GPA each semester. In addition to excelling academically in high school, she is also a 4 year varsity sports athlete. She is currently a team member for the Ursuline Tennis and Field Hockey teams. Brynn is an active member of her school’s community where she is a member of the National Art Honors Society, Tutu Making Club, Operation Smile, and Spirit Club. She plans to further her studies next year at The University of Tennessee majoring in Broadcast Journalism. Her dream is to be a news anchor on a major news station one day.
This was Brynn’s third year competing for the title of Miss Delaware Teen USA. As Miss Delaware Teen USA 2018, she wants to allow her voice to be heard on a larger scale and encourage people to go out into their communities and volunteer. She has always had a passion for giving back and believes it is so important to volunteer and help those in need. She has accumulated over 100+ service hours within her community and is still going strong! She dedicates most of her service to the Food Bank of Delaware and the Sunday Breakfast Mission. Volunteering has brought so much joy into her life and she believes the best feeling in the world is making someone else’s day! She looks forward to being able to impact the lives of others, especially those in need throughout her reign.
Three words Brynn’s friends and family would use to describe her are compassionate, determined, and resilient. Born three months premature, Brynn was immediately a little “fighter”. She spent two months in the hospital fighting for her life and had to learn to be brave and resilient. When she has a goal in mind, she does everything in her power to achieve it. Brynn’s charitable activities reflect her love and compassion for others.
Brynn lives by the words “No one is you and that is your power.” The pageant has allowed Brynn to gain more self-confidence and give her the power to speak out about topics she is passionate about! Her goal is to make Delaware proud by creating positive change in her community by inspiring others. Brynn is beyond excited to be able to proudly represent Delaware at Miss Teen USA 2018!
