Miss District of Columbia Teen USA 2022 Asia Hickman was born in Ansbach, Germany into a military family. She is a classically trained musician and plays the piano, saxophone and violin. She graduated from LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts and Music in New York City. She attended Pre-college at the Manhattan School of Music and was a member of Carnegie Hall’s “Future Music Project Ensemble.” Asia is a college student and has split her studies between Georgetown University and the University of Alabama.
At the age of 11, Asia founded her non-profit organization, Asia Hickman Music Inc., which provides music lessons to underprivileged youth worldwide. In 2017, she established the “Partnership With a Purpose” campaign to provide portable pianos to children in hospitals across the United States.Asia has performed at numerous venues including Merkin Concert Hall, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and the world famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York. She is a repeat winner of  Apollo Theatre’s “Stars of Tomorrow” Competition. Asia was also featured on The Harry Connick Jr. Show and was profiled on “The Morning Express with Robin Meade” on CNN/HLN.Asia loves to give back to her community. She has raised more than $12,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. She is also a six-time recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
