A native of Brookfield, Abby Bryson was crowned Miss Wisconsin Teen USA on 11 September 2016 and represented Wisconsin at the Miss Teen USA 2017 pageant in Phoenix, Arizona. Abby’s older sister Liz was Miss Wisconsin USA 2009.
Miss Wisconsin Teen USA 2017 Abby Bryson is currently enrolled in her freshman year studying graphic design at the College of Fine Arts at Texas Christian University. She has two older sisters, one of whom is Miss WI Teen USA 2009 Liz Bryson.
As a type 1 diabetic, Abby has made it her mission to give back to the type one diabetic community and educate others about the disease. Both her and her family have been involved with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and she has raised awareness through participating in walks, runs, bike rides, and galas. In 2010 she was appointed the youth ambassador for the JDRF Southeastern Wisconsin chapter.
Abby also had the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica her senior year of high school with other students from her school. Her and twenty other students traveled to Costa Rica for a week over spring break, spending three days with a host family who spoke no English, and the last four days traveling around the city. She enjoyed this trip because it opened her eyes to how other cultures live their everyday lives. She hopes to continue her love of travel in college by participating in a study abroad program learning about art in places like Europe or South America.
In her free time, Abby loves to experiment with new makeup products, complete Pinterest DIYs, work out, or try to find the best chocolate cake or baked potato at new restaurants with her friends. As a true Wisconsinite, you will find the drawer in her family’s refrigerator fully stocked with cheese, and find her cheering on her favorite sports team, the Green Bay Packers.
