The removal of the upper age limit meant that Miss USA 2024 is the most diverse group of contestants age-wise, with the youngest 19 and the oldest 41, as well as multiple married women and a mum-of-three amongst the roster. This year’s state titleholders include four nurses, a cybersecurity expert, pilot who is the associate editor of Women in Aviation Magazine, the first openly lesbian contestant and the first transgender Miss Maryland USA, and ten former Miss Teen USA contestants. Alma Cooper won Michigan’s fourth Miss USA title.
