A native of Leavenworth, Bella Whitlock was crowned Miss Kansas USA on 16 June 2024 and represented Kansas at the Miss Teen USA pageant in Hollywood, California. Bella is a fire safety advocate, stemming from her experience as a burn victim at only 16 years old. She attends the University of Miami where she is studying finance with a minor in business law.
Bella Whitlock, Miss Kansas USA 2024, is a Presidential Scholar at the University of Miami majoring in finance with a minor in business law. An active member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, Bella is dedicated to raising money for breast cancer research and awareness, rallying over 300 sisters to her cause. Her academic and leadership excellence carries into her involvement as a two-time DECA international qualifier in finance, and her aspiration to attend law school.
Bella is also an advocate for fire safety. This stems from a burn accident she experienced at the age of 16, making the cause deeply personal. She’s very committed to raising awareness and promoting safety measures in hopes of saving lives.
Bella’s family background is equally notable. Her father, Jeff Pittman, serves as a Kansas state senator and mother Holly Pittman mayor pro tem of Leavenworth, instilling in her a profound sense of civic duty. Bella’s dedication to service is exemplified by her receipt of the Presidential Volunteer Award from President Joe Biden. She has also served as a keynote speaker at an international women’s conference, inspiring others with her story and commitment to making a difference. She is also an active member of Lions International, the NAACP, and the University of Miami Young College Democrats, reflecting her commitment to community service and political engagement.
Outside of her academic and advocacy endeavors, Bella enjoys a variety of interests. She has walked in New York Fashion Week for Marc DeFang, and as an amateur chess player, she values strategic thinking and competition. Bella loves spending time at the beach with friends and cherishes her role as a big sister to Sloane, who is about to become a teenager.
