Asia Cymone Smith was crowned Miss Kansas USA on 23 March 2025 and will represent Kansas at the Miss USA 2025 pageant in Reno, Nevada. Asia grew up in Torrance, California and now lives in Wichita where she is a sports anchor and reporter at KSN-TV. Asia is the founder of Girls Talk Game, a platform dedicated to advocating for women in sports broadcasting. Recognizing the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles, she uses Girls Talk Game to host workshops, speaking engagements, and social media initiatives that promote a more inclusive future for women in the industry.
Miss Kansas USA 2025 is Asia Cymone Smith, a dynamic journalist, advocate, and mentor dedicated to inspiring others. Asia is an award-winning sports anchor and reporter at KSN-TV, an NBC affiliate in Wichita, Kansas. She has covered all things Kansas sports, from youth to the professional ranks, including three Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl runs. With aspirations to work for ESPN, Asia is grateful to start her career in America’s Heartland, a place rich in sports history and pride!
As a former NCAA Division I All-American heptathlete, Asia earned two college degrees on full-ride track and field scholarships. She is a proud alumna of San Diego State University, where she received her bachelor’s in Communication in 2021, before completing her master’s in Mass Communication from the University of Florida. Asia is a two-time Mountain West Team Champion, the 2020 Mountain West Indoor Pentathlon Champion, and a member of the historic Gators’ women’s track and field team that won the 2022 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships.
Asia is the founder of Girls Talk Game, a platform dedicated to advocating for women in sports broadcasting. Recognizing the underrepresentation of women in leadership roles, she uses Girls Talk Game to host workshops, speaking engagements, and social media initiatives that promote a more inclusive future for women in the industry.
Asia is also the author of There’s No One Like Me!, a children’s book about a confident young girl with vitiligo. The story is inspired by her mother’s journey with the autoimmune disorder, and promotes self-love, while challenging traditional beauty standards. Through her writing, Asia hopes to empower others to embrace their unique qualities.
In addition to her media work, Asia mentors with Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters, advocates for women’s heart disease awareness, and volunteers with adaptive athletes through Miracle League of Wichita.
With a life dedicated to leadership and advocacy, Asia Cymone Smith embodies beauty, intelligence, and empowerment. She is a proud third-generation Korean immigrant and the daughter of a retired Navy Commander, carrying her heritage and family values into everything she does. Asia is thrilled to represent the Sunflower State and bring her passionate energy to everyone she meets!
