Cheyene Darling was Miss Oklahoma USA 2018

20
Edmond

New

A native of Edmond, Miss Oklahoma USA 2018 Cheyene Darling represented Oklahoma at the Miss USA 2018 pageant in Shreveport, Louisiana. During her reign she advocated for Oklahoma’s K-12 education system, encouraging all students K-12 to stay involved at school, keep-up with their studies, join clubs, and take advantage of volunteer opportunities, all of which are such great attributes that can help build a strong foundation for their future

2018 bio:

My name is Cheyene Darling and I live in Edmond, Oklahoma. I graduated from high school a year early at the age of 17 by completing coursework through both day school and night school and earned my diploma with a 3.9 GPA along with being in the top percentage of my class. I then moved out and began pursuing my college education. I am currently a junior at the University of Central Oklahoma, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications specializing in Advertising and Public Relations.

I work as a professional model and waitress, and I have a huge passion for sports. Go OKC Thunder! After finishing my education, my goal is to make a career in the athletic industry. Not often are women associated with words like “strength” and “power,” especially in the realm of professional athletics, but that is something I want to change.

In my spare time I enjoy working out and doing yoga, I love to cook, and I’m a total movie fanatic. My favorite thing in the world is to make people laugh and smile. I was always the goofball growing up, and usually assumed the title of class clown. I have never been afraid to be real with people, and I think that’s why I find it easy to just have fun with the people around you. This love of comedy has actually led me to be welcomed among the cast of my University’s “Friday Night Live,” a spin-off from the infamous SNL. It’s a live comedy show that we put on a few times per year on campus just to lighten spirits and enjoy a good laugh with our classmates!

My life has been heavily influenced by education, and during my reign as Miss Oklahoma USA I plan to advocate for our K-12 education system here in Oklahoma. I want to encourage all students K-12 to stay involved at school, keep-up with their studies, join clubs, and take advantage of volunteer opportunities all of which are such great attributes that can help build a strong foundation for their future. Due to Oklahoma school’s suffrage from extreme budget cuts, I also hope to help raise funds for school supplies to donate to local teachers and schools throughout my year.

Being crowned Miss Oklahoma USA 2018 at the age of 19 and in my first pageant ever has given me so much motivation and determination to spread a message to everyone that no matter your age, background, experience, or struggles you have faced, no dream is too big to chase. Be proud of who you are and with positivity, hard work, and self-confidence anything is possible!
