A native of Mooreland, Miss Oklahoma USA 2017 Alex Smith represented Oklahoma at the Miss USA 2017 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada. Alex has a Business Administration and Marketing degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and worked as a professional men’s clothier during her reign.
Miss Oklahoma USA 2017 Alex Smith, an Oklahoma native, currently resides in Oklahoma City. She is a twenty-two-year-old professional men’s clothier. On December 18, 2016 Alex fulfilled two goals. She was not only crowned Miss Oklahoma USA, but concluded her Business Administration and Marketing degree. She is a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma where she completed her degree in three and a half years. Alex was in the top 10% of her class and was inducted into Delta Mu Delta, an international honor society recognizing top business students.
Alex graduated from Mooreland, Oklahoma in 2013, as the salutatorian of her class. She was named the Masonic Fraternity Student of Today, and she was voted Ms. Bearcat, a prestigious award elected by the faculty and peers.
Alex has an appreciation for growing up in a rural community where she believes everyone is a friend and neighbors support each other. Over the years she created and implemented an anti-bullying/self-esteem campaign. She was invited to various schools to discuss the negative effects of bullying. She understands that building confidence within our youth is crucial in today’s society.
Alex has an affinity for community service. Among other activities, she has donated time to the food pantry, supported the adopt an angel project and hosted a benefit concert helping to raise over $7,000.00, for victims of the 2012 tornado that struck near her hometown. Alex has made giving back to the community a high priority in her life and approaches it with great dedication and zeal.
At the age of ten, Alex began playing the guitar and discovered a love for music. She has written and recorded several original songs. She is currently working on an album with hopes to release it within the next year. In her spare time, Alex enjoys modeling, acting, traveling and spending time with her French Bulldog, Benny Jett.
