Miss Oklahoma Teen USA 2016 Hellen Smith is a concurrently enrolled as a Senior at Classen School of Advanced Studies, and taking freshman courses at Oklahoma City Community College. During her high school years, Hellen has been involved in several organizations on campus, including: Key Club, National Honor Society, Community Service Club and the Black Student Union.

Hellen is the third born to a family of 4 girls, and acting is her passion. Her favorite past performances include Poteet’s Color Purple as Daisy and her school’s production of a Streetcar Named Desire as Blanche. She has studied commercial and television acting for 8 years, and has appeared in commercials for Ocean Dental with her three sisters. She is currently an E-commerce model for JC Penney’s, contracted with the Dallas based Campbell Modeling Agency. And one of her favorite moments of 2015 was getting a call from her grandmother screaming because she saw Hellen modeling on jcp.com. Hellen enjoys Community Theater, volunteering, yoga, playing with her Chorkie named Charlie and spending time with family and friends.

During Hellen’s year as Miss Oklahoma Teen USA 2016, she hopes to inspire others through a program she developed called “Act It Out”. Using her improv skills acquired in her years of acting training, Hellen hopes to show children across the state of Oklahoma that they can make different choices. Act It Out provides essential decision making skills that can be used to combat peer pressure, bullying and other negative pressures teens face.
