A native of Silver Spring, Miss Maryland USA 2015 Mamé Adjei represented Maryland at the Miss USA 2015 pageant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mamé was a recent graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Africana Studies and minor in Business. Throughout my tenure as an undergraduate student, she developed an immense passion for service and social justice.
I am a Ghanaian-American, independent student, hoping to add some diversity to this year’s competition. Coming from two cultures I was raised to understand and appreciate all cultures and to value my place in this world, as well as my potential to make great contributions to it. And with my parents having been out of the country for many years, I had to assume the role and responsibility of being my own support system, motivator, and navigator in this world (with the blessed help of a few family & friends).
I am a recent graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Africana Studies and minor in Business. Throughout my tenure as an undergraduate student, I developed an immense passion for service and social justice. I aspire to earn an International Law degree in the near future, and someday soon apply to the United Nations in hopes of integrating my other passion – travel, with a mission to serve and affect change on a global scale.
Leadership to me, is essential in order to be able to create opportunities for oneself in life. One must take full responsibility of ones actions and the outcomes that follow. In every situation, I try my best to take charge and make no excuses for myself, because I know and believe that my drive and motivation for change can alter all circumstances.
