A native of Potomac, Miss Maryland Teen USA 2010 Kamie Crawford represented Maryland at the Miss Teen USA 2010 pageant at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas where she became Maryland’s first Miss Teen USA winner. Kamie went on to a successful career as a curve model, entertainment reporter and host. Her mother Carla Crawford later directed the Miss District of Columbia USA and Miss Connecticut USA pageants for a number of years.
Kamie Crawford, the daughter of Victor and Carla Crawford, is a 17 year-old Senior at Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland. She was blessed with this rewarding opportunity to represent the beautiful state of Maryland after being crowned Miss Maryland Teen USA 2010 on November 1st, 2009, her very first time competing on a pageant stage. With the love and support of her close knit family, where she is the oldest of five girls: Victoria, Karynton, adorable twin toddlers, Kenadi and Kendal, and one very cute Yorkie named, Bella, Kamie is encouraged to always think positive, to believe that through hard work you can achieve anything, speak everything into existence, and to always smile!
Kamie was selected into the medical program for the Congressional Student Leadership Conference at Georgetown University and is currently an Honor Roll student at her high school. She hopes to one day become a world-renowned dermatologist and have her own skincare and cosmetics line. In addition, Kamie donates her time and enthusiasm by giving back to her community. Through the ìadopt a familyî program, Kamie coordinates donations and deliveries to families who are less fortunate. She also volunteers to raise funds and awareness for Paige’s Run (5K run for Cystic Fibrosis) and the American Heart Association, in tribute to her late grandmother.Cheerleading has been a major part of Kamie’s life for the past 7 years. She has received numerous Spirit Awards and last year, she was awarded Outstanding Cheerleader of the Year for her hard work and dedication to the sport. She currently serves as Captain of her squad. Kamie also enjoys graphic design, modeling, makeup artistry, and of course, shopping! Kamie’s graphic designs have won in several school club competitions. She is very proud of her diverse background, which includes Jamaican, German, Irish, Cuban, Indian, and African American and she is fluent in three languages.
