Miss Hawaii Teen USA 2016 Joahnnalee Ucol was born in the Philippines and moved to Hawaii when she was three. She considers herself to be a Maui girl with city dreams. She is currently 16 years old and is enrolled at Maui High School as a junior. Joahnna dreams of becoming a singer someday, however, she is also looking into television broadcasting. She is in the process of becoming the first in her family to go to a 4-year university.
Additionally, she is her school’s A.V.I.D (Advanced Via Individual Determination) program President, as well as Maui Evangelical Church’s Youth Group Ministry President. Joahnna also sings for her church during praise and worship.
Faith plays a big part in Joahnna’s life. In everything she does, it is important for her to accustom every little move with her favorite bible verse; Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.
