A native of Honolulu, Julianne Chu was crowned Miss Hawaii USA on 19 November 2017 and represented Hawaii at the Miss USA 2018 pageant in Shreveport, Louisiana. Julie is a full time certified special education teacher and a proud member of the Young Executives (YEs) Board of Special Olympics Hawaii, an ambassador for Women Speak Out Hawaii, and the author of her own website the Power of Positivity.
