A native of Honolulu, Julianne Chu was crowned Miss Hawaii USA on 19 November 2017 and represented Hawaii at the Miss USA 2018 pageant in Shreveport, Louisiana. Julie is a full time certified special education teacher and a proud member of the Young Executives (YEs) Board of Special Olympics Hawaii, an ambassador for Women Speak Out Hawaii, and the author of her own website the Power of Positivity.

She enjoys an active lifestyle including hiking, surfing, and swimming in her island paradise. Julianne also loves traveling, art, music and her three miniature dachshunds.
