A native of Cranston, Olivia Culpo was crowned Miss Rhode Island USA 2012 on 18 September 2011 and in June 2012 became the first Rhode Islander to win the Miss USA pageant. In December 2012 she went on to win the USA’s first Miss Universe title for 15 years! Olivia has remained in the entertainment industry since her reign, and has co-hosted the Miss Universe pageant. She is engaged to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey. She also had a long-term, highly publicised relationship with Nick Jonas.
Olivia Culpo, 20, is from Cranston, Rhode Island. She is the daughter of Peter and Susan Culpo and the middle child of five. Olivia graduated from St. Mary Academy Bay View in 2010 with high honors and as a member of the National Honor Society. In high school, Olivia’s love for Italian language gave her the opportunity to take part in two foreign language programs to Milano, Italy. She continues her education as a sophomore at Boston University and has been placed on the Dean’s List every semester.
Olivia was raised in musically rich surroundings, with her parents both having begun their professional lives as musicians. She began studying cello in the second grade and has participated in the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, RI Philharmonic Chamber Ensemble, Bay View Orchestra and Rhode Island All-State Orchestra as well as studying voice, As a cellist, Olivia won a seat in the Boston Symphony Hall in Boston, Carnegie Hall in New York City and a tour of England in 2010. Ms Culpo was accepted into an intensive summer music program at the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina for two summers. She continues to perform with the Boston Accompanietta.
Olivia competed at Miss Universe 2012 on home soil in Las Vegas on 19 December 2012, winning the USA’s first Miss Universe title in 15 years.

All beautiful things must come to an end, no matter how bittersweet. Olivia attended Miss Rhode Island USA 2013 as Miss USA, crowning her successor Brittany Stenovitch as Miss Rhode Island USA 2013, and Miss Rhode Island USA 2014 as Miss Universe.
