A native of Warwick, Miss Rhode Island Teen USA 2016 Malia Cruz represented Rhode Island at the Miss Teen USA 2016 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada. Malia was a full time student at The University of Rhode Island and The Community College of Rhode Island during her reign. She had participated in long distance running since the fifth grade and running was one of her favorite hobbies.
