A native of Cumberland, Miss Rhode Island Teen USA 2015 Mary Malloy represented Rhode Island at the Miss Teen USA 2015 pageant at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Mary enjoys volunteering with the Rhode Island Special Olympics as a swim coach and for the Special Olympic Games. She is passionate about theatre and has appeared in over 15 productions both at her high school and local theatre.
Miss Rhode Island Teen USA 2015 Mary Malloy is a Senior at Cumberland High School, where she was elected Class Treasurer. She was also voted Prom Queen by her peers at her Junior prom. She is a dedicated honors student who loves studying French. After saving up her own money by taking on several jobs, Mary was fortunate enough to travel to France with her school. Experiencing France was amazing and she hopes to return one day. Her favorite part was visiting Normandy and the D-day beaches. Mary has been on the Varsity Tennis Team for the past four years. She loves to participate with her schools singing choir. Mary hopes to further her education and become an Anesthesiologist.
In addition to her studies, she enjoys volunteering with the Rhode Island Special Olympics, as a swim coach. Mary also volunteers at the Special Olympic Games, held each year at the University of Rhode Island. While at the University, Mary helps the athletes to their events, cheers them on, and celebrates their victories.
Theatre is Mary’s passion, she has appeared in over 15 productions both at her high school and local theatre. One of her favorite roles to portray was Juliet, in Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”. Mary has also been a Girl Scout for the past nine years. Her favorite activity with the Girl Scouts is cooking for the homeless and families in need. Through Girl Scouts, Mary has become Red Cross Certified.
After being close to the finish line at the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing, Mary realized that she had to live each day to its fullest, to set goals and fulfill them. Later that year, Mary competed for the Miss Rhode Island Teen USA pageant, where she finished as a semi-finalist. With determination, hard work, and confidence Mary re-entered Miss Rhode Island Teen USA 2015 and won!
