A native of Boulder, Emily DeMure was crowned Miss Colorado USA on 27 October 2019 and represented Colorado at the Miss USA 2020 pageant in Memphis, Tennessee. She later represented the United States at Miss Grand International in Indonesia.
Emily Rose DeMure is a senior at the University of Colorado Boulder and a member of the PAC-12 Division I Volleyball team. She is preparing to graduate in 2020 with a Major in Sociology and Minor in Arts Practices. A Masters in Sports Psychology is on her horizon and she plans to be an intercollegiate volleyball coach. Ultimately, her goals include being the first female Head Coach of the USA Women’s National and Olympic Volleyball teams, and to own and operate an Olympic Certified training facility.
She is notably ambitious achieving a multitude of high-standard academic, athletic, and achievement awards. Emily was twice selected to the USA Volleyball High Performance Junior National Team; seven times making the University of Colorado Boulder Athletic Directors Honor Roll; 2018 CU Volleyball Scout Team MVP; having her CU team achieve two times NCAA Division I Volleyball playoffs and being a recipient of the 2018 Global Beauty Award for Best Athlete. She was a 2018 NCAA PAC-12 Academic All-American team honorable mention.“Seek first to understand, seek next to be understood”; is a mindset that guides Emily’s way in serving her community. She desires to inspire and empower women to tirelessly and relentlessly pursue their passions.Recently, Emily worked with the head commissioner of The PAC 12 Conference to challenge stereotypes during PAC-12 Media Day and implemented a Change.org petition to cultivate change for the negative gender stereotypes facing female athletes.In her spare time, Emily enjoys hiking the Flatirons, skiing, healthy baking, coaching her youth Volleyball team, taking a Yoga class, serving at Flatirons Community Church, or adding her award winning artwork to her website www.emilyrosearts.com . She is a proud “cat” mom to “Princess” and she serves as a Team IMPACT Ambassador for chronically ill children.
