A native of Colorado Springs, Yasaswini Uppalapati was crowned Miss Colorado Teen USA on 27 October 2019 and represented Colorado at the Miss Teen USA 2020 pageant in Memphis, Tennessee. Yashi is a Freshman at the University of Colorado Boulder Leeds School of Business. She is a part of the Diverse Scholars Program, Multicultural Business student association, and South Asian Student Association.
Yashi Uppalapati is a driven, hardworking individual who believes positivity is the key to success. “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference,” a quote by Winston Churchill, something she relates to.
Yashi is a Freshman at the University of Colorado Boulder Leeds school of business. She is a part of the Diverse Scholars Program, Multicultural Business student association, and South Asian Student Association. She plans on double majoring in accounting and finance and getting a double minor in Hindi and Technology Arts and Media. Her goals are to get her masters in accounting with the accelerated program that is offered at the Leeds school of business. One day she sees herself being a successful accountant and working at Goldman Sachs on wall street.
In high school, she was involved with Future Business Leaders of America, DECA, French Club, French Honor Society, Link Crew, and International Cultural Club. She was also an honor roll student with a passion for fashion. She started modeling at 15 and was signed to Wilhelmina Denver, and she is also involved with Denver Fashion Week and other shows. Along with school and modeling, she also worked part-time to start earning her own money.
All these things are possible due to her high ambitions and values; one of her top values is self-respect, to have self-respect for her, and have respect for those around her. She cherishes this value a lot. One of her goals is to impact others in a beautiful way that is to instill self-love in them one day at a time. This is something she is passionate about and continues to work towards it.
In her free time, Yashi likes to cross restaurants from her list of restaurants to eat at, do yoga, volunteer at the children’s hospital, and help out those in need. She also is a tv show addict and loves to binge-watch.
The on-stage moments, the tension of the final two and the glory of the crowning, here are Yashi’s state pageant photos.
Lights, camera, action! Professional photoshoots are one of the perks that comes from winning a title.
All beautiful things must come to an end, no matter how bittersweet. See Yashi’s farewell walk and other candids from the weekend she crowned her successor Abi Lange as Miss Colorado Teen USA 2021.
