A resident of Los Angeles, Allyshia Gupta was crowned Miss California USA on 26 January 2020 and represented California at the Miss USA 2020 pageant in Memphis, Tennessee. Alyshia was born and grew up in England and moved to the US in 2012 where she attended Auburn University. She became a US citizen shortly before she won Miss CA USA.
Allyshia likes to say she’s a walking example of why you should never judge a book by its cover. Despite the blonde hair and blue eyes, Allyshia is half Indian and originally born in England.
Allyshia migrated to the United States with her single mother when she was only a few years old. She spent her childhood growing up on a rural farm in Florida where she developed a passion for equestrian sport. When she wasn’t on a horse, Allyshia was working at her family restaurant where she credits her strong work ethic, commitment to serve, and people skills too! At 15, Allyshia left home to attend a European boarding school where she obtained advanced level qualifications in business, psychology, and philosophy of religion and science. She then returned to the states and started her own business before matriculating at Auburn University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and entrepreneurship.After university, Allyshia chased a career in media and landed her first job working for ABC network in Los Angeles, CA, where she currently resides with her English bulldog, Bentley. Allyshia is passionate about female empowerment- specifically in business and entrepreneurship and has her own non-profit organization, Care to Create, which supports this agenda as well as various other causes close to Allyshias heart. Before entering Miss California USA, Allyshia had waited 8 years to naturalize and become a US citizen, allowing her to be eligible for the competition. Allyshia hopes to inspire others to chase their dreams because she believes that everyone can achieve their fairytale ending if they work hard enough for it.
