A native of the small town of Hope, Sophia Richards is Miss North Dakota USA 2026 and will represent North Dakota at Miss USA 2026 in Miami. Passionate about empowering young women, Sophia advocates for confidence, resilience, and personal growth through mentorship and community involvement. She was a three-time first runner-up at Miss North Dakota Teen USA and also a first runner-up at Miss North Dakota before winning Miss North Dakota 2024 and now Miss North Dakota USA.

Until she won Miss North Dakota and then Miss North Dakota USA, Sophia had been a four-time first runner-up, three times at Miss North Dakota USA and once at Miss North Dakota. She was first runner to Ashlyn Erickson at Miss North Dakota Teen USA 2018, Caitlyn Vogel in 2019 and Amanda Higginbotham in 2020.
