A native of Bangor, Shelby Howell was crowned Miss Maine USA on 11 May 2025 and will represent Maine at the Miss USA 2025 pageant in Reno, Nevada. As a first-generation college student studying business administration and management, Shelby combines her personal experience with her entrepreneurial vision to empower families and advocate for generational stability. Shelby Howell, Miss Maine USA 2025, is an entrepreneur, nonprofit founder, international model, and proud resident of Bangor, Maine. Her journey into pageantry is rooted in a deep desire to create meaningful change—especially for single mothers and fathers working to rebuild their lives after hardship. After witnessing her own mother’s strength navigating financial struggle post-divorce, Shelby was inspired to launch the Single Parent Housing Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping single parents gain access to housing resources, financial literacy, and a pathway to homeownership.

After seeking solace in Maine with her family following the passing of her grandfather in 2024, Shelby decided to make the state her permanent home. The peaceful landscape and welcoming community gave her the clarity and motivation to bring her nonprofit vision to life. Now living in Bangor, she is proud to call Maine home and is committed to making a lasting impact in her community and in the lives of single parents across the state.
In addition to her nonprofit work, Shelby is a small business owner who collaborates with international brands as a product reviewer, helping companies promote high-quality lifestyle and beauty products to global audiences. Her business has given her the opportunity to work with diverse companies while empowering consumers to make informed choices.
Shelby is also an accomplished international model. She has represented the United States in two global competitions, earning a world title in 2023. She was also selected as the face of the show for the prestigious Le Mans Fashion Show in Le Mans, France. Her modeling career has taken her across the world, deepening her appreciation for diverse cultures and fueling her passion for women’s empowerment.
As Miss Maine USA, Shelby is using her platform to be a transformational voice for single parents, open doors for underserved communities, and show that true strength is built through compassion and service. She believes that real beauty lies in using your voice, uplifting others, and never giving up on yourself—no matter where you start.
