A native of Leon, Morgan Kofoid was crowned Miss Iowa USA on 6 October 2019 and represented Iowa at the Miss USA 2020 pageant in Memphis, Tennessee. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa College of Nursing.
Morgan is in her final semester at the College of Nursing at the University of Iowa. She will graduate with her BSN in December 2019 with a minor in physical activity and nutritional sciences. After obtaining her RN license, she plans to work at the University of Iowa hospital. After gaining nursing experience in an intensive care unit, she plans to apply for graduate school specializing in anesthesia.
Morgan has been on the Dean’s list and President’s list during her education at the University of Iowa. She has been honored by participating in Sigma Theta Tau and the Nursing Honor’s Program and she has been a teaching assistant for public speaking courses. Morgan also spent 4 semesters on the Student Leader Board which included supervising 70+ student volunteers in several units such as the Mother Baby Care Unit, Pediatric Specialty Clinic and the Main Operating Room. Morgan is currently completing her senior internship in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Morgan is also a signed model for a variety of midwestern businesses including Von Maur, Hy-Vee, Casey’s, Pink Pewter at Ulta and was recently featured on the cover of a historical fiction novel. Morgan is a fitness fanatic with a special interest in barre. She loves sushi, elephants, traveling for modeling jobs and watching Iowa Hawkeye football games. Charitable organizations close to Morgan’s heart include The ALS Association due to her grandfather’s illness and passing from Lou Gehrig’s Disease, along with veteran’s healthcare and resources due to her brother’s, sister’s and brother-in-law’s service to our country. Morgan wants to inspire and empower other young women in her near future by showing them you can have it all by someday working as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and model while also balancing life in the future as a wife and mother.
