A native of Waukee, Marisa Mathson was crowned Miss Iowa Teen USA on 21 May 2022 and represented Iowa at the Miss Teen USA 2022 pageant in Reno, Nevada. Her love of reading inspired her to create her program, Just Turn the Page, where she promotes literacy. She serves on her high school’s Leadership Academy, is a member of National Honor Society and the varsity football and competition cheer squads, and performs as a member of her school’s varsity show choir
Miss Iowa Teen USA 2022 Marisa Mathson lives in Des Moines, Iowa and is an active member in both her community and school. She serves on her high school’s Leadership Academy, is a member of National Honor Society, on the varsity football and competition cheer squads, and performs as a member of her school’s varsity show choir group. She recognizes the importance of education and strives to maintain her 4.3 GPA and advanced class load.
Reading has played an important role in Marisa’s life. She has read over 8,000 books as well as authored and published her own children’s book, “A Day Without a Friend.” Her love of reading inspired her to create her program, Just Turn the Page, where she promotes literacy.
