A native of Okeechobee, Taylor Fulford was crowned Miss Florida USA 2022 in June 2022 and represented Florida at the Miss USA 2022 pageant in Reno, Nevada. Taylor used the title as a megaphone for diabetes awareness and helping others improve their relationship with food, exercise, and their body.
Miss Florida USA 2022 Taylor Fulford is a graduate of the University of Florida. She has volunteered for over 800 hours of community service at various schools, UF Health Shands, and other organizations. Taylor is the founder and director of various initiatives including “Fit2BeYou, Crowns for a Cure, and Own Your Sparkle”. As Miss Florida USA she hopes to further grow all of these initiatives while promoting women’s health and education. Fit2BeYou focuses on helping others improve their relationship with food, exercise, and their body.
As Miss Florida USA, Taylor will use this title as a megaphone to bring more awareness for not just Type 1 Diabetes but also Type 2 Diabetes and how to prevent it by living a healthy lifestyle through her social media platform on Instagram @fit2be.you or #fit2beyou. Taylor aspires to implement this as an after-school program within schools across the state or even throughout the US. As a kindergarten teacher, she believes it is important to instill healthy habits at a young age. This passion stems from her diagnosis of having Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 14. However, she does not see her diagnosis as an obstacle but more as a badge of courage, one that she wears proudly.
