A native of Jonesboro, Kelsey Dow was crowned Miss Arkansas USA on 8 January 2012 and represented Arkansas at the Miss USA 2012 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kelsey won the first People’s Choice award, earning her a spot in the top 16.
Kelsey is the twenty-one year old daughter of Dr. Tim and LeAnn Dow of Jonesboro, Arkansas. She has an older sister, MacKenzie, who has always been her biggest supporter. Kelsey is a member of the Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta where she has held numerous positions. She has made the Chancellors, Deans, and Honor’s Directors List at Arkansas State University where she is majoring in Communication Disorders. She plans on obtaining a Master’s Degree in order to become a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist. In her spare time, Kelsey enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Kelsey plans to use her title as Miss Arkansas USA 2012 to remain a positive role model, as well as give back to her community. She has spoken to local schools about the importance of volunteering and hopes to encourage the younger generation to get involved. Kelsey also hopes to raise awareness of the dangers of texting and driving.
