A native of Hensley, Amber Mitchell was crowned Miss Arkansas Teen USA on 8 January 2012 and represented Arkansas at the Miss Teen USA 2012 pageant in the Bahamas. When she was only seventeen years old she had a tumor removed in her breast. She hopes to promote breast cancer awareness throughout her reign.
Miss Arkansas Teen USA 2012 Amber Mitchell lives in the small town of Hensley with her wonderful parents, Buster and Tracey Mitchell and her brother Nathan. She is an eighteen year old college sophomore at Pulaski Tech. She is majoring in broadcast journalism with the aspiration to be the next Vanna White.
During her senior year of high school, she worked twenty hours a week and graduated with twelve hours of college credits while maintaining a 4.0 gpa. Amber was a member of SADD, FBLA, and the president of JAG. She was chosen to represent Arkansas at the National JAG Conference in Washington, DC. Amber had the opportunity to emcee the Mr.SHS pageant which raised money for the Make a Wish Foundation. She also raised and delivered toys for the Toys-For-Tots drive amongst other charity work.
In her free time Amber enjoys sewing, cooking, traveling, volunteering, taking pictures (being the photographer or being the one shot), scrapbooking, working out, reading, and playing with her brindle Pit bull/German Sheppard dog, Maddie. She absolutely loves iced chai tea lattes with sugar free vanilla from Starbucks and peach sweet teas from Sonic. She doesnÕt watch much television, but when she does she enjoys watching Wheel and Fortune and the show, Pawn Stars which she actually got the opportunity to be featured on.
Amber believes and promotes the fact the if God will bring you to it, He will bring you through it. When she was only seventeen years old she had a tumor removed in her breast. She hopes to promote breast cancer awareness throughout her reign. She is looking forward to being the best possible representative she can be and getting wonderful opportunities to volunteer for and promote causes.
