Miss Florida Teen USA 2019 Katia Gerry is in 11th grade, homeschooling at Abeka Christian Academy which affords her the opportunity to act, model and work on personal projects. One of her dreams is to book a job on a tv series as a regular cast member. Katia enjoys cliff jumping, hiking, exploring nature, cooking, needlepoint, and learning how to skateboard with her brother. At the of 12 Katia created and now manages her non-profit 501(c)3 organization Shoes For Africa and More Inc. This organization originally existed to support her grandmother’s mission to supply shoes for kids in Africa, and now works with her sister within Stay Gorgeous Girls charitable organization, by collecting dresses, jewelry, makeup and prizes for the girls involved..Katia Believes that Confidence is something that is developed over time from life experiences and challenges. She attributes her personal challenges trying “fit-in” and overcoming skin eczema as stepping stones to becoming a more confident and happy teen.
