A native of Winter Park, Lou Schieffelin was crowned Miss Florida Teen USA on 17 December 2017 and represented Florida at the Miss Teen USA 2018 pageant in Shreveport, Louisiana. Lou’s mission this year has been sharing with her peers the important message of – Stay Alive, Don’t Text & Drive – the initiative against Teen Texting…It Can WAIT. During her year as Miss Florida Teen USA, she looks forward to helping to make texting while driving a primary offense.
Miss Florida Teen USA 2018 Lou Schieffelin is an 11th grade student currently enrolled in advanced placement classes and a member of the National Honor Society. Lou has performed over 700 hours of community service, is a spirited athlete, was honored to be chosen by her school to represent The First Academy at the 2018 National Student Leadership Conference for Law in Washington, D.C. Lou’s future academic goals are to become a National Merit Finalist and graduate high school with collegiate honors.
Lou is an advocate for the Wounded Warrior Project and started empowerment programs including Positively Me with the Junior League of America and Youth Leadership LIVE, a non-profit that encourages today’s youth to explore STEM learning.
