A native of North Vernon Morgan Abel was crowned Miss Indiana USA on 29 November 2015 and represented Indiana at the Miss USA 2016 pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada. Morgan is a graduate of Indiana University–Columbus and during her reign was a registered Nurse in the Mental Health Unit at Columbus Regional Hospital. She describes herself as a thrill seeker who enjoys racing, snow skiing, knee boarding, exploring and singing on stage as a vocalist.
Miss Indiana USA 2016 Morgan Abel is a graduate of Indiana University – Columbus. She is a registered Nurse in the Mental Health Unit at Columbus Regional Hospital. Her career ambition is to pursue a Master’s degree at Indiana University to become a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. She also wants to partner with the Crisis Hotline to help those who need immediate assistance due to their perceived crisis, as well as continue integrating the HOPE program into local schools in order to prevent suicide related deaths.
She describes herself as a thrill seeker who enjoys racing, snow skiing, knee boarding, exploring and singing on stage as a vocalist. Morgan’s school and community activities include: National Alliance of Mental Illness, Turning Point Domestic Violence Shelter, Red Cross, Hospice, HOPE, CHAMP Camp, and AYS.

Morgan was Miss Indiana Teen USA 2008 and became the third 2008 Teen to win Miss Indiana USA, following Miss Indiana USA 2011 Jillian Wunderlich, and Miss Indiana USA 2012 Megan Myrehn. Four years after passing on her Teen title she placed second runner-up to Megan at Miss Indiana USA 2012 then was first runner-up to Emily Hart at Miss Indiana USA 2013, a semi-finalist at Miss Indiana USA 2014 and second runner-up to Gretchen Reece at Miss Indiana USA 2015 before winning Miss Indiana USA 2016.
