Returning runners-up have come back to win many Miss New York USA pageants in recent years, although newcomers have been more successful in the Teen pageant.  For many years the pageants were held upstate and one year were even held (alongside Miss NJ USA) at a resort in Pennsylvania!  New York’s Miss USA 1979 Mary Therese Friel remained heavily involved in the New York pageants for many years, mentoring and coaching winners and contestants.  This archive contains Miss New York USA and Teen USA pageant results and photos since the 1980s, including a rare photo of the first-ever Miss Teen USA Ruth Zakarian after winning the New York title in November 1982.
