A native of Salisbury, Lauren Martz was crowned Miss North Carolina Teen USA on 14 November 2009 and represented North Carolina at the Miss Teen USA 2010 pageant at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas. When she was crowned she had recently been accepted into the North Carolina School of Science and Math and aspired to a career in the medical field with a specialty in neonatology.
Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2010 Lauren Ashley Martz was born and raised in the Carolinas. She is honored to be representing North Carolina and thankful for all the support she has received. Lauren was one of 80 students across the state to be accepted into the North Carolina School of Science and Math where she will be taking the PhD level course, Medicinal Chemistry.
Her support for the arts began at a young age when she began training as a violinist in Elementary School. An avid sports fan, she enjoys being active and participating in a variety of physical activities such as golf, cheerleading, running, and swimming. Known as being self-motivated, she starts her day with ‘5 at 5’ which consist of a 5 mile run at 5 a.m. Lauren has been involved with several charitable organizations and has spearheaded several fundraisers. During her reign as Miss North Carolina Teen USA, she would like to bring national awareness to the ongoing needs of individuals with mental and physical disabilities. Along with being an honors student, Lauren is employed with a company which offers driving tours in exotic super cars. At the age of 14, she began modeling and is signed with a nationally known agency. She currently does print work and recently walked in Fashion Week. In the future, Lauren is looking to further her academic studies into the medical field with a specialty in neonatology.
