A native of El Paso who was living in Las Cruces during her reign, Christa Schafer was crowned Miss New Mexico USA on 15 August 2021 and represented New Mexico at the Miss USA 2021 pageant in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Christa has a BA in English Literature and has worked as a flight attendant and real estate agent.
Christa Schafer is a 26 year old with a BA in English Literature. She has a fondness for reading and writing; she is currently working on a children’s book inspired by her volunteer work. While she is currently pursuing the publication of her writing, her modeling career has granted her publications nationally and internationally. Christa’s passions include traveling, interior design, experiencing new cultures, and all things Disney; she would have remained a Disney intern forever if possible.
After losing her flight attendant career to Covid-19, Christa began pursuing her real estate license. Despite this change in direction, she is excited for what a future in corporate real estate holds.
As the current Miss New Mexico USA, Christa will continue her volunteer work through her program “A Blessing in Disguise”, where she gives back to children with terminal illnesses. As a certified educator, Christa also hopes to help encourage children in New Mexico to stay in school, and moreover, seek opportunities for further their education.
