A native of Old Bridge who resides in Hoboken, Alexandra Lakhman was crowned Miss New Jersey USA on 3 April 2022 and represented New Jersey at the Miss USA 2022 pageant in Reno, Nevada. As a first generation Ukranian-American, Alexandra grew up speaking Russian and is deeply connected to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. She is also actively involved within the Cure SMA Organization.
Miss New Jersey USA 2022 Alexandra Lakhman was born and raised in Old Bridge and now resides in Hoboken. She is a Digital Marketing Associate Manager working for Newell Brands, a Fortune 500 company. Alexandra attended The Fashion Institute of Technology and majored in Fashion Business Management and Advertising, Marketing and Communications, along with a minor in English. She graduated in 2018 and immediately fell in love with the eCommerce industry after having extensive internships at Harper’s Bazaar, GQ Magazine, Brandsway Creative Public Relations, and SWAAY Media.
Alexandra’s younger brother has a progressive physical disability, Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This disease is the leading genetic cause of death for infants, with no cure to date. Throughout her spare time, Alexandra is actively involved within the Cure SMA Organization and currently serves as the Communications Chair for New Jersey. Within her role, she generates awareness through social media and events that ultimately lead to raising revenue to fund scientific research.
As a first-generation Ukrainian American, Alexandra is deeply connected to the Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine because her father and grandparents were born in Odessa, Ukraine. As Miss New Jersey USA, she plans on continuing to give back to those who are affected by the on-going conflict by working with non-profit organizations such as UNICEF and Save The Children.
Capturing the title of Miss New Jersey USA 2022 is a dream come true for Alexandra because she won on her 7th time competing between the Miss and Teen divisions. She hopes she can inspire those around her to fight for their dreams, no matter how large they may seem, and to never give up.
Some additional facts about Alexandra: Russian was her first language, she did not learn English until she was 5 years old. She is a huge lover of fitness and leading a healthy lifestyle. Her hobbies include trying new restaurants and sample shopping! In 2016, Alexandra won the Jovani It Girl National Modeling Competition.

There’s nothing better than watching a contestant progress from year to year! Alexandra started competing in the Miss New Jersey Teen USA pageant, finishing first runner-up to Valentina Sanchez in 2014. She was also first runner-up twice in her five years competing at Miss NJ USA before winning the 2022 title.
