A native of Kaneohe, Tia Bustamante was crowned Miss Hawaii Teen USA on 11 November 2020 and represented Hawaii at the Miss Teen USA 2021 pageant in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tia is a freshman at Chaminade University of Honolulu majoring in Cellular and Molecular Biology, studying to become a Pediatric Oncologist. She is going to college with the support of the Ho’oulu Scholarship Program which is a full ride scholarship given to a selected amount of talented Native Hawaiian college students.
Miss Hawaii Teen USA 2021 Tia Bustamante is a freshman at Chaminade University of Honolulu majoring in Cellular and Molecular Biology, studying to become a Pediatric Oncologist. Through this scholarship she is able to learn more about her Hawaiian culture and language. She sings, dances hula, and was apart of her high schools dance program. As a 2020 graduate of James B. Castle High School in the Medical pathway, Tia learned about her dream job of helping children and learning more about cancer She is the recipient of the Gold Presidential Community Service Award, which is awarded to individuals who has completed over 250 hours of community service.
