A native of San Diego, Cassandra Kunze was crowned Miss California USA on 5 January 2014 and represented California at the Miss USA 2014 pageant in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She won California’s first Photogenic award in over 20 years.
Cassandra Kunze is a twenty-year-old California girl born and raised in San Diego. She is a junior at San Diego State University studying Television, Film & New Media and International Security & Conflict Resolution. She grew up dancing ballet at California Ballet School and is a self taught pianist. Cassandra loves playing flag football as well as baseball, track & field, golf, ultimate frisbee and paddle boarding. She has traveled to Costa Rica, the Caribbean and to Israel as a U.S. student ambassador. She is the middle child of three, having an older and younger brother. Her parents’ divorced when she was seven years old and she now has a wonderful stepfather, stepbrother and stepmother. Cassandra’s favorite quote is “a day without laughter is a day wasted” and believes that optimism is key to making the most of every day.
