Siyona Karkera, crowned Miss Arkansas Teen USA 2024, made history as the first Indian American to hold this prestigious title. At just 17 years old, Siyona is a Pulaski Academy High School student, balancing her academic pursuits with her passion for advocacy and leadership.

In addition to being a professional model represented by Kim Dawson and a tutor at the Kumon Math and Reading Center, Siyona serves as the president of the Little Rock Mayor’s Youth Council, inspiring her community and beyond.

Siyona’s advocacy stems from her personal journey as a daughter of immigrant parents navigating the complexities of cultural identity. She is resilient and dedicated to making a difference through her platform, S.M.I.L.E. (Siyona’s Mental-Wellness Inspiring Learning Environment), which creates a supportive environment for children facing similar challenges.

As a NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) state youth ambassador, Siyona passionately advocates for children’s mental wellness to amplify awareness and destigmatize mental health issues among youth. She has taken her message of mental wellness nationwide, delivering engaging classroom presentations and creating an educational online video series that has reached over 30,000 viewers and counting. Her efforts have been recognized by Governor Sanders and Little Rock Mayor Scott, who have proclaimed designated days in Arkansas and Little Rock for children’s mental wellness in acknowledgment of Siyona’s impactful work.

Outside her advocacy endeavors, Siyona enjoys physical activities like running and yoga, as well as expressing herself through music by mastering pieces on the piano.
